School & Subject Selection
Boarding School
We help families generate a short list of schools by considering factors such as curriculum, school type and size, reputation, location, boarder ratio etc. Subject selection is particularly important for Year 10 and Sixth Form or penultimate year entrants as their choices will affect the courses they can apply to in university. Hence, our university consultants will discuss with students and advise them on the subject choices that can encompass most of their interests.
University
Choosing the right course is very critical and increasingly, students are applying to more than one region. At Ampla, we guide students to find their most suitable course in different regions based on their interests and passion.
Application Strategy
Depending on the student’s profile and preferences, we advice individuals on the optimal school selection strategy, such as the entry year, location, types and number of schools applying to. In addition to preparing an application and revision timeline for the students, we also assist in the purchase of school debentures (individual or corporate).
Essay Review
Through brainstorming with students, we are able to guide them in crafting an inspiring and polished personal statement that effectively communicates their passion for their chosen subject or school.
Exam Preparation
Our experienced education consultants provide customised face-to-face tutorials and online lessons for admissions exams and standardised tests to optimise student performance. Our tutorials cover all key components of the curriculum and provide intensive training in core skills and techniques.
Boarding Schools
Tutorials offered include pre-test, UKiset, SSAT, ISEE, 11+, 13+, 16+ in English, Maths, Science, Humanities and Reasoning.
University
Intensive exam preparation courses are available for SAT, ACT, BMAT, UKCAT, LNAT, TSA, STEP, and Oxbridge subject specific entrance exams.
Interview Coaching
Boarding Schools
Interview is undoubtedly one of the parts students find most intimidating. Taught by Ampla’s experienced consultants, who have all graduated from top boarding schools, students will learn to deliver effective answers and express themselves with poise and confidence.
University
We prepare students for the rigorous university interviews by arranging mock interview sessions with Oxbridge specialists or medical professionals, who are able to provide detailed and constructive feedback with recommendations for further improvement.
Communication with Schools
We facilitate the communication between schools and families in either English, Cantonese or Mandarin.
School Visits
Our exclusive Admissions Consulting service will be led by consultants who have been to top boarding schools and universities themselves, and is only available by arrangement. This includes visiting schools and universities for the first time, as well as going there for assessment days or interviews with admissions directors.
